Applicants sought for two vacancies on the Michigan Appellate Defender Commission

The State Bar of Michigan Board of Commissioners is seeking applications for the following vacancies:

• Michigan Appellate Defender Commission: Two vacancies for four-year terms beginning in May 2023

The Michigan Appellate Defender Commission is a statewide, seven-person body that sets policy for the State Appellate Defender Office and the Michigan Appellate Assigned Counsel System, hires the directors, and reviews and adopts regulations for assigning appellate counsel. Commissioners are nominated by the State Bar and various courts and appointed by the governor. 

The commission meets quarterly.
