For the second straight year, the kickball team from the Oakland County Prosecutor’s Office (pictured above) took the measure of the Oakland County Circuit Court staff in a spirited contest at Waterford Mott High School on September 21. While the score was lopsided, 15-1, the game produced plenty of fun, according to attorney John Pietrofesa, who sparked the winning team. “A great time was had by all and we even had a packed house in the stands,” said Pietrofesa. Juvenile Court Referee Dave Bilson, along with a host of others, helped form the Courthouse team. Among the legal dignitaries on hand for the game were Circuit Court Judges Jeffery Matis, Kathleen Ryan, Julie McDonald, and Jacob Cunningham, as well as Oakland County Prosecutor Karen McDonald. Judge Derek Meinecke, of the 44th District Court, earned kudos from both teams for an even-handed job of umpiring the contest. “The game was great fun all around for the Courthouse team and we’re looking forward to playing again with the OCPO and other teams,” said Bilson, who noted that Prosecutor’s Office won last year by a much closer 7-6 score.
