Bodman attorney Debani T. Gordon Lehman has been reappointed to the State Bar of Michigan Diversity & Inclusion Committee for the 2023-2024 term.

Lehman has been an active member of the committee since 2021.

In this role, Lehman supports several diversity goals laid out by the State Bar’s Strategic Plan including: identifying strategies to promote a diverse and inclusive voice in all State Bar of Michigan work and communications; recommending practices, tools and strategies to advance diversity and inclusion at the SBM staff level, section and committee levels, and throughout the justice system; encouraging examination of the status of diversity and inclusion efforts of Michigan law firms, courts, and law schools.

She also suggests methods for celebrating successful diversity and inclusion efforts; identifying the need for any workgroups to support the jurisdiction of the committee; and identifying possible collaborations to support.

Lehman is a senior associate in Bodman’s Ann Arbor office. She focuses her practice on municipal law, representing city leaders, departments, and related entities on a broad range of legal issues faced by municipal governments.

She provides general counsel services to several municipal governments and to departments of public works, development authorities, planning departments, police departments, city administrators, city clerks, and city councils.

She is also a trained civil mediator.

Lehman is an active member of Bodman’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.
