 2024 Pro Bono Honor Roll applications now available

The 2024 Pro Bono Honor Roll Application and Pro Bono Service Reporting Survey is now available for individual attorneys, solo practitioners, law firms, and corporations. The deadline for submission is April 30, 2024.

The Pro Bono Honor Roll recognizes those who support access-to-justice efforts by providing qualifying pro bono legal services to low-income individuals and families in Michigan. The 2024 Pro Bono Honor Roll recognizes bono service performed during the 2023 calendar year.

Individual attorneys and firms have the option of remaining anonymous, but still are encouraged to report their qualifying pro bono service to the State Bar of Michigan by completing one of the applications below:

• 2024 Pro Bono Honor Roll Application (Firms & Corporations)

In Michigan, pro bono service has become a well-established tradition among members of the legal profession.?In 2023, more than 1,000 Michigan attorneys provided more than 42,500 hours of pro bono services. (See the 2023 Pro Bono Honor Roll here.)

2024 SBM Election Information



Nominating petitions for the 2024 State Bar of Michigan election will be available in the Michigan Bar Journal and posted on the State Bar website in March.

The June election will include:

 • A judicial member of the Judicial Tenure Commission

 • Representative Assembly members in 43 judicial circuits

 • Board of Commissioner seats in five districts

Members of the Young Lawyers Section Executive Council in three districts

Candidates will be required to submit nominating petitions to the State Bar of Michigan between Monday, April 1, and Tuesday, April 30. Ballots will be emailed to all active members before June 2, 2024 and must be completed and returned by June 15, 2024.
