“As the CEO, I want to express the profound significance of this event for our organization. Every participant, through their involvement, has played a crucial role in advancing our mission to ignite the power and promise of youth,” stated Lisa Humphrey, President/CEO of Brothers Big Sisters. “Their collective efforts not only contribute to our financial goals, with the aim of raising $143,000 through Bowl for Kids’ Sake, but also demonstrate the power of community engagement. The impact extends beyond the funds raised; it directly influences the lives of the youth we serve through the invaluable one-to-one mentorship relationships established. Flint and Genesee County’s commitment is the driving force behind our organization’s ability to make a lasting and positive impact on the futures of those we serve. Thank you for being a BIG part of our mission and vision.”
Bowl for Kids’ Sake, a nationally recognized event by Big Brothers Big Sisters, holds special importance in Genesee County and Flint as it pays tribute to the late Gary Haggart, former executive director and community icon. Haggart, a pioneer in community impact, laid the foundation for this annual event, which aims to foster mentorship for youth in Flint and Genesee County.
Funds continue to be raised through March 31st. The organization looks forward to announcing the winners for the Challenge Competitions (i.e. Financial Institution, Battle of the Badges, Pan-Hellenic, and Media), Highest Pledge Achiever, and Grand Prize Drawing at the wrap up party on April 10th. Contact the office at 810-235-0617 for more information.
