‘Djangophonique – Gypsy Jazz’ set October 12


Djangophonique – Gypsy Jazz is set 7:30 p.m., Friday, October 12, at The Block.

Born out of reverence for the Parisian Jazz Manouche style, Djangophonique captivates with their unique blend of gypsy jazz and contemporary vibes. You’ll hear hot swing, lush ballads, jazz standards, boleros, and more.

This concert is part of the following packages: Premier (12 concerts), Jazz (5 concerts), Jazz Plus (6 concerts).

‘Chicago Collects: Jewelry in Perspective’


The Muskegon Museum of Art will host this exhibit of 200 pieces of historical jewelry and objects from the late 19th and early 20th centuries October 17 through January 5, 2025.

The exhibition, drawn from public and private collections in Chicago, highlights a 19th century jeweled monstrance, a collection of magnificent tiaras, medals of the French kings, gems from the Art Nouveau Movement, and much more.  

Featured designers in the exhibit include Louis Comfort Tiffany, Rene Lalique, and Anne Howe Geyer.

The exhibition is organized by the Driehaus Museum in Chicago.

‘Quilts: The Artistry of Home’
runs through September 29


Quilts: The Artistry of Home showcases a selection of quilts from the Michigan State University Collection that were made during the early 20th century, with a focus on the era of Great Depression.

The event ends September 29 at the Muskegon Museum of Art, 296 West Webster Avenue,  Muskegon, MI 49440.
