James Liggins appointed State Bar of Michigan Commissioner
James L. Liggins Jr., a senior counsel at Warner Norcross + Judd LLP, has been appointed a State Bar of Michigan commissioner. He will serve a one-year term as commissioner of District F, which covers Southwest Michigan.
Liggins is a litigator and community ambassador whose practice consists of contractual disputes, real property litigation and construction concerns as well as business contractual disputes, criminal defense, health care issues and emergency manager matters.
Underwood named in ‘Ones to Watch 2025’
Attorney Curtis L. Underwood, an associate at the law firm of Grand Rapids-based Mika Meyers, was named by Best Lawyers in America as a member of the “Ones to Watch” 2025.
Underwood specializes in mergers and acquisitions, commercial leasing, entity formation, shareholder disputes, and real estate development.
Silver named to Top 10 and Top 100 Lists
Lee T. Silver, a managing shareholder in Butzel’s Grand Rapids office and co-chair of the Mediation and Arbitration Specialty Team, was named to Michigan Super Lawyers Top Ten list. In addition, he was named to Michigan Super Lawyers Top 100 list for Business Litigation.
He has successfully handled complex commercial litigation cases of virtually every type over the past 40 years in state and federal courts throughout Michigan and other states.
He was named by Best Lawyers in America as the 2023 Grand Rapids Lawyer of the Year for Bet-the-Company Litigation.
