The West Michigan Symphony’s Principal Clarinet joins with Associate Principal Cellist Igor Cetkovic, pianist Emily Grabinski, and Associate Concertmaster of Kalamazoo Symphony Stefan Hubenov – to bring a night of music from Brahms, Bartok and more.

‘Transcending Tradition’ starts February 6

The Muskegon Museum of Art will host “Transcending Tradition: Selection of works from the Bennett Collection of Women Realists,” February 6 to May 11.

The Bennett Collection is a growing collection of figurative realist paintings by women artists founded by San Antonio art collectors Steven Alan Bennett and Dr. Elaine Melotti Schmidt.

This exhibition highlights work by both historical and contemporary women painters, such as Artemesia Gentileschi, Mary Cassatt, Elaine de Kooning, Andrea Kowch, Zoey Frank, Katie O’Hagan, and many more.

“Women of the Watch, Keepers of the Light”

The play “Women of the Watch, Keepers of the Light,” highlights  stories of female lighthouse keepers of the Great Lakes.

The show will be followed by a Q&A talkback.
