Zeeland Township Board OKs Road Repaving Projects

The Zeeland Township Board has approved its list of road repaving projects for this summer.

The board at its Jan. 7 meeting approved more than $258,000 of resurfacing work on five subdivision streets that are currently rated as “poor” to “fair.” The Ottawa County Road Commission will bid out the work as part of an overall countywide bid package for subdivision repaving, Township Treasurer Melissa Veldheer said.

The largest of the projects is on Esker Drive, from Adams Street north to the cul-de-sac at the end of the road. The cost for repaving the 2,400-foot length of Esker has been estimated at $128,405, according to township documents.

Other road projects slated for 2025 in the township include (with cost estimates in parenthesis):

· Sand Lake Drive, from Bluff Lake Street south to the cul-de-sac ($65,042)

· Bluff Ridge Drive, from Mid Bluff Drive to Sand Lake Drive ($26,667)

· Kettle Lane, from Esker Drive east to the cul-de-sac ($20,571)

· Drumlin Drive, from Esker Drive east to the cul-de-sac ($18,053)

The township had set aside $400,000 in its budget for road resurfacing this year, Township Manager Josh Eggleston said.
