The event will feature dresses donated by Emmy Award-winning media entrepreneur Tanya Hart, who has garnered eight Emmy nominations – winning four – and received a Lifetime Achievement Gold Circle Award from the National Television Academy. A Muskegon native and graduate of Orchard View High School, Hart presented the Hackley Distinguished Lecture last spring, and donated several gowns she wore at award ceremonies.
Friday’s sale runs from 5 to 8 p.m., with a $15 donation requested at the door and complimentary wine and chocolates. Saturday’s sale is from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., with free entry. Doors close briefly at noon, followed by most merchandise half off.
There will be a large selection of costume and fine jewelry. A Bodacious Boutique will include Tanya’s dresses, along with designer clothing and accessories from additional significant donations. Brands include clothing by St. John, Emilio Pucci, and Tanja Pignatelli, boots by Vero Cuoio and Maison Martin Margiela, and much more. There will also be the boutique area with purses, boots, scarves and fun things.
Since its inception in 1973, Friends of Hackley Public Library has made an investment of over $1 million toward Library programs and to enhance and restore areas throughout the historic Library building and Torrent House. The group also presents the annual Charles Hackley Distinguished Lecture in the Humanities, a free community event held each spring.
