This effort by the Muskegon County FOC is meant to help ensure that court-ordered child support is fair, equitable, and current.
It is designed to encourage parties with bench warrants or license suspensions to engage with Friend of the Court staff in a location outside of the courthouse, to address child support matters without the threat of arrest, incarceration, or appearance before a judge. It is also an opportunity to have associated fees waived, and for payers of support to receive information about resources in our community that can help maintain compliance with court orders going forward.
This is for anyone who has fallen behind in their child support and who has a current bench warrant and/or license suspension issued by the Muskegon County Friend of the Court Office and would like to have that warrant/suspension resolved without incurring associated fees, or risking arrest on an open warrant.
The 2-day event is 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 7, and Wednesday, May 8, at Michigan Works! 316 Morris Ave, Muskegon, MI 49442
For more information, including Frequently Asked Questions and responses, support payers can visit the Muskegon County Friend of the Court Office located on the 3rd floor of the Muskegon County
Hall of Justice, 990 Terrace Street, Muskegon, MI 49442.
