As of March 17, the Michigan State University College of Law Class of 2024 saw a 10-month employment rate of 92.27% for the graduates, the College’s highest employment rate in the past decade and a 7.19% increase from the Class of 2023.
The College of Law’s Career Services Office reports that the Class of 2024 also has the distinction of having secured more jobs in Michigan for 2024 graduates than any other Michigan law school.
Among the graduates, 87.27% (192 out of 220) secured full-time, long-term, bar passage-required, or JD-Advantage positions—the “gold standard” in legal employment. Of the employed graduates (203 out of 220), 94.58% are in gold-standard roles.
Graduates secured positions across legal sectors, showcasing the versatility and value of an MSU Law degree.
Additional highlights from the Class of 2024 include:
• 100% of graduates who passed a bar exam on their first attempt secured a job.
• Employment by sector: 118 in law firms, 33 in government, 25 in public interest, 13 in business/industry, and 11 in judicial clerkships.
• Geographic reach: Graduates work in 25 states, Washington D.C., and Canada, with Michigan, Illinois, and California leading in placements.
• Judicial clerkships secured at notable courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Michigan Supreme Court, and the Michigan Court of Appeals.
• 58% of graduates joined law firms of all sizes, from boutique practices to 500+ law firm size.
