Jeffrey M. Black joins Mika Meyers
Jeffrey M. Black, has joined Mika Meyers PLC, as a member. He will be based out of the Grand Rapids office.
Black has been practicing for 20 years, and specializes in estate planning, probate and trust administration, business and commercial law, and real estate law.
Prior to joining private practice, Black was a full-time law clerk in the Kent County Circuit Court.
He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan, and a juris doctorate degree from the University of Richmond School of Law.
He is involved in the State Bar of Michigan and the Grand Rapids Bar Association.
Haley receives MSU?Law award
Clif E. Haley was awarded the George N. Bashara Jr., Distinguished Alumni Award at the MSU Law Commencement.
Haley earned his law degree from the Detroit College of Law (DCL) in 1961.
In 1993, Haley was awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree from MSU Law. He returned in 2003 as an undergraduate student, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in interdisciplinary humanities with a concentration in philosophy from the College of Arts and Letters.
He also taught Mergers and Acquisitions as an adjunct professor at MSU Law.
He received a second honorary doctorate in 2014, from MSU.
When the newly affiliated MSU-DCL opened in East Lansing in 1997, Haley joined the Board of Trustees. He was elected board president in 2001 and later named founding board chairman.
He continued teaching at the law college for 13 years.
Haley’s professional career began with 17 years in domestic and international leadership roles at Ford Motor Company.
He went on to launch a leasing and rental venture within Ford, which led to a long and successful career with Budget Rent a Car, where he ultimately served as chairman and CEO.
The courtroom at MSU Law bears the name of Clifton and Carolyn Haley.
