Virtual support group for attorneys to start July 9    

The State Bar of Michigan’s Lawyers and Judges Assistance Program is offering a free, confidential virtual support group for attorneys to help each other work through stress, improve their overall well-being to maximize professional competency, and connect with their peers.

Meetings will begin July 9, and take place via Zoom on Wednesday evenings, from 6-7 p.m. ending August 27. All meetings are facilitated by an LJAP Clinical Case Manager.

The schedule of topics will be:

Week 1: Procrastination

Week 2: Setting Healthy Boundaries

Week 3: Coping with Challenging Clients

Week 4: Imposter Syndrome

Week 5: Mindfulness - Observation and Description

Week 6: Anger

Week 7: The Power of Dialectic Thinking

Week 8: Harmful Lawyer Stereotypes

Participants can attend at any time during the eight weeks, and attendance at all groups is not required.

Printed attorney directory available  

The State Bar of Michigan is bringing back the printed directory as a pilot program.

This hands-on reference book lists active Michigan attorneys’ contact information—including address, phone number, fax number, and email address.   It does not include detailed court listings or other similar information, which is available in the SBM online Resource Directory at www.michbar.org/Publications/Resource-Directory.  The most up-to-date information on attorney status and contact information is always available in the free online Member Directory at michbar.org.

The directory can be purchased for $45 at https://store.michbar.org/Store-Search.  The store is located within SBM’s online member area, and customers will be prompted to log in.
