The National Bar Association Listening and Engagement Tour made a stop in Detroit on July 2 as part of a cross-country outreach effort that has included more than 30 cities as the NBA marks its centennial year. The July 2 program took place at the Detroit Athletic Club and featured an appearance by NBA President Wiley Adams, the 82nd president of the organization that is the oldest and largest network of predominantly Black American attorneys and judges. The Detroit program was supported by the Association of Black Judges of Michigan, the Wolverine Bar Association, the D. Augustus Straker Bar Association, the Black Women Lawyers Association of Michigan; the Vanzetti Hamilton Bar Association; the Floyd Skinner Bar Association; and the Davis Dunnings Bar Association, according to Kimberley Ann Ward, vice president of NBA Sections and Divisions, who served as event co-host and co-moderator of the program.
