Morning Book Club at the Norton Shores Branch of the Muskegon Area District Library  is set 10:30-11:30 a.m., Thursday, September 4.

September: “What You Are Looking for Is in the Library,” by Michiko Aoyama.Tokyo librarian Sayuri Komachi is able to sense exactly what each visitor  is searching for and provide a book recommendation. A restless retail assistant looks to gain new skills, a mother tries to overcome demotion at work after maternity leave, an accountant yearns to open an antique store, a recently retired salaryman searches for newfound purpose. In Komachi's unique book recommendations they will find just what they need to achieve their dreams.


WMS Alvin Waddles Trio -
Detroit Jazz Tradition
is set September 26


Pianist and vocalist Alvin Waddles is an integral part of the Detroit jazz landscape. His trio will captivate with their masterful blend of jazz, gospel, and classical, shaping with technical brilliance and soulful expression.

The concert is set 7:30 p.m., Friday, September 26, in The Block.


‘Julia Child: A Recipe For Life’


This exhibition will be held at the Muskegon Museum of Art through September 1. Attendees will step into a replica of Child’s famous TV set; experience the sights and sounds of her kitchen and explore an amazing interactive exhibition of her legacy.  Admission is an $8 upcharge from general admission.
