Retired Jackson attorney James Treciak died Sept. 14 at the age of 85.
Treciak was a 1958 graduate of St. John Catholic High School and 1964 graduate of Wayne State University accelerated dual-degree BA/JD program.
He became a member of the State Bar of Michigan in 1964, earning emeritus status after his retirement.
For over 50 years he was in private practice in Jackson and served over 20 years as an attorney for Jackson County Circuit Family/Juvenile Court.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
Treciak was a voracious reader and perennial patron of the Jackson County Public Library. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Jackson County Public Library would be appreciated.
