‘Awards Breakfast’

The Harold White Sr. Awards,
presented annually by the City of Jackson’s Human Relations Commission (HRC),
recognize residents and organizations making a difference in promoting
diversity, inclusion, and volunteerism in the community. Honorees were
celebrated at the Harold White Sr. Awards Breakfast on October 22, at the MLK
Recreation Center in Jackson. Awardee names are added to the Harold White
Memorial Marker in Horace Blackman Park.
HRC Chair Cheryl Ragland (left) presented
Diversity Awards to Lisa Hendricks from the Michigan Department of Corrections,
and Jackson Police Officer Trent Marcum, for their work with Special Olympics;
with HRC Vice Chair James Johnson III, Master of Ceremony.

the Community Service Award for Inclusion to lifelong educator Mary Belknap,
