Ryan named to Best Lawyers in America 2026


Timothy J. Ryan, a principal in the Grand Rapids office of the nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C., has been listed in the 2026 Edition of The Best Lawyers in America for his Labor Law – Management specialty.

Ryan has practiced exclusively in the labor and employment area since 1987, when he was admitted to the Bar.

He is a frequent speaker and writer on topics including union avoidance, hiring and firing, family and medical leave, wage and hour laws, and other issues related to labor and employment law for employers. 

Ryan earned his JD, magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame, and B.A., magna cum laude, from Aquinas College.

Enright joins Rhoades McKee


James Enright has joined Rhoades McKee as a member of the Environmental and Natural Resources Law Team.

Enright represents businesses and individuals in disputes over natural resource development and use, in overcoming obstacles tied to development and use of contaminated property, and in facing government investigations or legal actions involving the environment or natural resources. These matters can range from practical questions, like estimating liquid waste from a proposed high school, to complex regulatory determinations, such as identifying when a solvent used in an industrial process becomes regulated hazardous waste.

He earned a BS in Natural Sciences, with Distinction, from the University of Wisconsin, and JD, cum laude, from the University of Wisconsin Law School.

Enright has served in a number of different positions with the State Bar of Michigan, and is currently co-chair of the Hazardous Substances and Brownfields Committee. 

He has served as Grand Rapids Bar Association, Chair of Environmental Law Section (2005-2006); Air & Waste Management Association, West Michigan Chapter, Chair (2010-2011); and as Board President, St. Stephen School (East Grand Rapids).

He has been named a Best Lawyers in America in Environmental Law.
