Jennifer E. Black has joined Bodman as a senior counsel in the Exempt Organizations and Impact Investing Practice Group, and is based in the firm’s Ann Arbor office.
Black counsels nonprofit and other tax-exempt organizations and the investors who support them on a broad range of legal, operational, compliance, and administrative issues.
Black previously served as a compliance and project manager at a nonprofit health policy and research center. She has also worked with local, state, and federal agencies, in grants and contracting, and on matters of governance and administration.
Black received her J.D. and undergraduate degrees from the University of Michigan.
Aidan A. Maraachli joins as a senior associate in the Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Based in the Troy office, Maraachli represents clients involved in complex commercial litigation matters. Before joining Bodman, Maraachli served as a law clerk for the Hon. Curtis Ivy, Jr., the Hon. Michael J. Hluchaniuk, and the Hon. Stephanie Dawkins Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. In these roles, he drafted opinions on all pre-trial matters ranging from jurisdiction and discovery to complex constitutional and commercial litigation claims. He also managed cases through litigation from discovery to oral argument.
Maraachli graduated first in his class and was the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Detroit Mercy Law Review. He was also a member of Moot Court, the Student Honor Code Task Force, American Inns of Court, and OutLaws. He volunteered as a student attorney for the Hazel Park City Attorney’s Office.
Maraachli is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Wayne State University, summa cum laude.
