It didn’t take long for the first baby of 2026 to be born at Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital last Thursday.
In fact, it was slightly more than four hours.
Teagan Elise Villarreal arrived into the world at 4:14 a.m., checking in at seven pounds in weight and 21 inches in length. Teagan is the first child of parents Danielle and Troy Villarreal of Zeeland.
Teagan’s arrival came earlier than expected. Her mother’s due date was Jan. 7, Corewell spokeswoman Sarina Gleason said.
Both mom and baby are said to be doing well, Gleason said.
