Sheriff’s Office to Hold Active Shooter Response Event

What would you do if you find yourself in a situation where there is an active shooter?

The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office will hold a Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course next Monday that could save your life if you should encounter such a situation.

The CRASE course will be offered from 6 to 8 p.m. in the main conference room of the county administration building, 12220 Fillmore St., West Olive. The course is free, but registration is required and space is limited.

The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) course provides strategies, guidance, and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event.

Participants must be at least 18 years of age, and are asked to bring a picture ID such as a driver's license or state-issued identification. Older teens are welcome to register and attend with a parent or guardian.

You can register for the CRASE course at app.miottawa.org/AdminEventReg.
