The Zeeland City Council Monday night approved the appointment of Sabina Otteman to fill an opening on the city’s Cemetery and Parks Commission.
Otteman, a lifelong Zeeland resident, replaces Amy Langeland, a longtime commission member who was elected to City Council last November. The commission already had a council representative in Mayor Pro Tem Sally Gruppen, resulting in an opening being created.
Otteman formerly worked for Hope College in its development office as director of The Hope Fund. She currently serves on the board of the Corewell Health Zeeland Hospital Foundation, and previously served on the board of the Zeeland Board of Public Works, the Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area and the Holland Chorale.
Otteman’s term on the Cemetery and Parks Commission will run through May 2029.
