The Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office is accepting applications for its Citizens Police Academy.

The nine-session academy offers 25 citizens an inside look at law enforcement. Sessions will be held on Thursday nights from 6 to 9 p.m., starting April 30 and running through June 25, at the county administration building, 12220 Fillmore St., West Olive. There is no charge for applying.

Potential candidates for the Citizen Police Academy must meet the following criteria:

• Minimum age of 18

• Live or work in Ottawa County

• No Misdemeanor arrests within one year of application

• No prior felony arrests
