Michigan-based painter Jill Gates’ “Legacy in Blue and Bloom” has been selected as the official poster for this year’s Tulip Time Festival in Holland. The festival takes place May 1-10.
Tulip Time Festival, Inc. has selected a stunning new piece by Michigan artist Jill Gates as the official poster for the 97th Tulip Time Festival.
2026 marks Gates’ first appearance as the official Tulip Time poster artist.
Jill Gates is an artist and educator who believes that creativity is not just taught, but shared. Based in Michigan, she has spent years opening the doors of art to people of all ages — children, teens, and adults — inviting them to explore painting, watercolor, fiber arts, sculpting, and more in a space that feels welcoming, encouraging, and full of possibility.
Her work is deeply shaped by faith, family, and beauty found in everyday moments. Gates’ watercolor paintings often center on nature, tradition, and cultural heritage, inviting viewers to slow down and recognize the sacred woven into daily life.
It is that spirit — of authenticity, meaning, and shared beauty — that made her painting, titled “Legacy in Blue and Bloom,” stand out among submissions for this year’s festival poster.
“We are thrilled to feature Jill’s artwork as the official poster for the 97th Tulip Time Festival,” festival executive director Gwen Auwerda said. “Her piece beautifully reflects the beauty and tradition of Tulip Time, making it a special celebration for our community and visitors alike.”
Prints of the winning artwork will be available for purchase at the Tulip Time office and online at TulipTime.com, along with other merchandise and souvenirs featuring the official poster design.
The 97th Tulip Time Festival will take place May 1–10. Detailed program and event information, along with ticket information, is available at TulipTime.com.
