An estimated crowd of about 800 people turned out last Saturday morning under sunny and cool conditions for Zeeland Festivals’ second annual Easter Egg Hunt.
“It was a realty well-attended event,” event organizer Lynette Lam said.
About 12,000 plastic colorful eggs were placed around the downtown area for the hunt. Kids aged 0-5 took part in the egg hunt at the splash pad on Elm Street, while older children age 6-12 participated in the hunt on Main Avenue from Church Street to Elm.
Children had a limit of 15 eggs person. Eggs that had a number on it could be redeemed for prizes at the tent in front of Zeeland Bakery. Children also had a chance to meet the Easter Bunny.

Holland to Hold Spring Fling Promotion
Downtown Holland will hold its third annual Spring Fling spring break promotion from April 4-11.
The Spring Fling, sponsored by the Holland Convention and Visitors Bureau, is an entire week filled with giveaways, shopping and dining discounts, fun in-store promotions, and yard games. The 2026 Spring Fling is proudly sponsored by the Holland Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“Spring break doesn’t always mean traveling far, and we’re excited to warmly welcome those choosing to stay closer to home and experience all that Holland has to offer. From our vibrant downtown to our unique shops and dining, there’s no better place to enjoy a spring getaway right here in Holland,” said Linda Hart, executive director of the Holland CVB.
The Spring Fling fun kicks off at 10 a.m. Saturday. The first 1,000 visitors to stop by the Holland CVB office at 78 E. 8th St. can pick up a free Downtown Holland tote bag, along with an official Spring Fling shopping and dining passport, and a boarding pass featuring “flight” specials at participating restaurants. The Spring Fling totes, passports, and boarding passes will be also available to pick up at the CVB throughout the week while supplies last.
For those not able to visit the CVB in person, a print-friendly version of the passport and boarding pass can also be downloaded on the Spring Fling website at hollandspringfling.com.
All week long, spring breakers can get their passport stamped every time they make a purchase at one of more than 40 shops and restaurants participating in the Spring Fling. Once they have received 10 stamps, customers can turn in their passport for a chance at winning the Spring Fling Grand Prize drawing for a Downtown Holland gift card bundle valued at $1,000. A runner-up will also be selected at random to win a $100 gift card to their favorite Downtown Holland business.
Participating shops and restaurants will also be offering 20 percent off discounts throughout the Spring Fling, with savings on clothing, shoes, accessories, books, gifts, meals, and more. Discount details vary by business, so please see the full list of 20 percent discount offers on the Spring Fling website.
And while those traveling for Spring Break will be wrestling with long security lines, lost luggage, and a lack of leg room on their flights this week, customers in Downtown Holland can relax with a different type of flight. As part of the Spring Fling, participating restaurants and cafes, and pubs will be offering special “flights” on cocktails, sweet treats, and more. Check out the printed boarding pass for all of the flight specials or view the list on the Spring Fling website so you don’t miss a single flight.
Spring Fling concludes with a weekend of outdoor fun on Friday and Saturday, April 10-11. Customers ages 21 and older are invited to grab a drink from one of the nearly 20 Social District establishments in Downtown Holland while playing a variety of fun yard games for free all along 8th Street, including corn hole, mini golf, and more. (This event is weather dependent. In case of inclement weather, be sure to stay tuned to the Downtown Holland Facebook page for the latest updates.)
