Zeeland Public Schools’ Spring Art Extravaganza once again brought Zeeland families together to celebrate student artwork and the important role the visual arts play in K-12 education.

Held at The Royal Atrium at Royal Park Place Retirement Village on March 24, this longtime Zeeland tradition and celebration is a wonderful opportunity for families, educators, and community members to experience the creativity and talent of Zeeland Public Schools students.

During the artist’s reception, families enjoyed student artwork from all grade levels while ZPS orchestra students played in the atrium area.

For Zeeland Public Schools, art education is not separate from other learning. It is woven into the school experience in ways that help students think carefully, solve problems, express ideas, and build confidence.

With exemplary professional educators leading the process, students are discovering their strengths and taking pride in their work.

The Spring Art Extravaganza is also a chance to recognize the Zeeland Public Schools art teachers who invest so much in their students. Their work goes far beyond putting pieces on display.

They help students grow in skill, creativity, and confidence, and they help make the visual arts a valued part of the Zeeland Public Schools curriculum.

This year’s Extravaganza also included a special visit from local artist Joel Schoon-Tanis, whose connection to the area added another meaningful layer to the celebration and highlights the lasting influence that art and creative experiences can have on young learners.

The Spring Art Extravaganza took place from March 23-27.
