Steenwyk, Taylor Receive Degrees from Cedarville; Four Named to Honor List
Nathan Steenwyk and Jacob Taylor, both of Zeeland, recently graduated from Cedarville University in Urbana, Ohio.
Steenwyk and Taylor were also named to the university’s Dean’s Honor List for maintaining at least a 3.75 grade-point average for the spring semester and carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours. Two other Zeelanders, Natalie DeZwaan and Dylan Killilea, were also named to the Dean’s Honor List.
Cedarville University, an evangelical Christian institution in southwest Ohio, offers undergraduate and graduate residential and online programs across arts, sciences and professional fields. With 7,265 students, it is among Ohio’s largest private universities and is ranked among the nation’s top five evangelical universities in the Wall Street Journal’s 2026 Best Colleges in the U.S.
Brands Graduates from Wisconsin Lutheran
Emily Brands, of Zeeland, graduated from Wisconsin Lutheran College in May with a bachelor of science degree in biology, and received a Christian Leadership Certificate.
Brands also was also named to WLC’s Dean’s List for the Spring 2026 semester for carrying at least a 3.5 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. She is a graduate of Pentecostal Christian Academy.

Elizardo Graduates from South Plains
Fabian Elizardo of Zeeland graduated with their cosmetology certificate from South Plains College in Levelland, Tex. this spring.
Elizardo was among more than 800 students recognized for their academic achievements and resilience in a changing world.
South Plains College is a two-year community college that empowers students and transforms communities across the greater South Plains area of Texas. The institution offers innovative technical education, health sciences, continuing education and workforce development programs.
Inman, Pyle Named to Olivet Nazarene Dean’s List
Katelyn Inman and Emily Pyle, both of Zeeland, have been named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.
To qualify for inclusion on the Dean’s List, a student must have been enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student and must have attained a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on a 4.00 grading scale.
Olivet Nazarene University is an accredited Christian, liberal arts university offering more than 140 areas of undergraduate and graduate study, including the Doctor of Education in ethical leadership. Olivet’s 275-acre park-like main campus is located 45 miles south of Chicago. Additionally, Olivet offers Graduate and Continuing Studies via online education.
Trine Names Smith to President’s List
Rylee Smith has been named to the President’s List at Trine University in Angola, Ind. for the spring semester.
To earn President’s List honors, students must complete a minimum of 12 hours and have a grade point average of 3.750-4.000.
Smith, a Zeeland West High School graduate, is majoring in exercise science/pre-physical therapy.
Trine University is an internationally recognized, private, residential institution, offers associate’s, bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in the Allen School of Engineering & Computing, Ketner School of Business, College of Graduate and Professional Studies, Brooks College of Health Professions, Franks School of Education, Jannen School of Arts & Sciences and Rinker-Ross School of Health Sciences.
Pacanowski Named to Samford Dean’s List
Claire Pacanowski of Zeeland has been named to the dean’s list at Samford University in Birmingham, Ala.
To qualify for the dean’s list, a student must have earned a minimum 3.5 grade-point average out of a possible 4.0 while attempting at least 12 credit hours of coursework. The Dean’s List is the highest academic recognition given by the school at the end of each semester.
A total of 2,408 students named to the Dean’s List at Samford for the spring 2026 semester.

Point Park University in Pittsburgh, Pa., has named Saige Canfield of Zeeland to its Dean’s List for the Spring 2026 semester.
Canfield is one of more than 1,300 students who were named to the Spring 2026 Dean’s List. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must have a 3.5 GPA for the semester.
