Four candidates were expected to interview with the Zeeland Township Board Wednesday night for the position of interim township manager.
A three-member transition team had brought in the candidates after a screening process last week.
The candidates that were scheduled to be interviewed are, in order:
• Tony Graff, a management consultant for MGT Impact Solutions, a public sector management consulting firm, and former city manager in the Upper Peninsula city of Menominee. Graff also has past experience as chief of police and city administrator in Yorkville, Ill. and city administrator in Wilmington, Ill.
• Howard Fink, who served as Park Township’s manager from 2017 until August 2025. Fink interviewed for the Laketown Township manager job in July of last year, and most recently served as interim administrator for the Kalamazoo Lake Sewer and Water Authority. He also has past experience as manager in Northfield Township, near Ann Arbor, and town administrator in Merrillville, Ind.
• David Trent, who has been an elected member of the Salem Township board in Washtenaw County for more than 20 years, and has been village manager in three eastern Michigan communities – Ortonville, Grass Lake and most recently, Almont.
• Nate Geinzer, founder and chief executive officer of Double Haul Solutions, a strategic planning and leadership development firm which has been working with the township since late last year on its strategic plan and improving its communications to the public.
The transition team consists of Township Manager Josh Eggleston, Supervisor Kerri Bosma and special legal counsel David Eberle. The team has set a goal of getting an interim manager in place before Eggleston ends his tenure with the township Aug. 21 to move over to Holland Township to become its new manager.
The board could hold a special meeting next Monday to make a hiring decision, Bosma said.
