Two people were seriously injured over the weekend in a single-car crash at the border of Zeeland and Jamestown townships.
The crash took place at 4:16 a.m. Sunday in the area of 48th Avenue and Felch Street.
A preliminary investigation by the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office showed a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta driven by a 20-year-old Byron Center woman was southbound on 48th near Felch when the vehicle ran off the roadway to the right, struck an embankment and rolled over an unknown number of times.
At least one of the occupants was ejected from the vehicle. Both the driver and her passenger, a 21-year-old Allendale man, were taken to an area hospital in serious condition. Neither of the occupants were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
The crash remains under investigation and anyone with information is requested to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office.
