USS Silversides  Museum
Is Open 7 Days a Week


The USS Silversides Sub-marine Museum, with a World War II submarine and a two-story museum and a gift store, is open for summer hours through October 31,  from 10 a.m., to 5 p.m., 7 days a week. The museum is located is at 1346 Bluff St.

WMS to Host Jeff Haas Quintet
on October 24


This vibrant, eclectic jazz ensemble blends Jeff Haas’ passion for jazz, funk, R&B, and Judaica. Featuring top Michigan musicians, each performance pulses with heart and soul—delivering an electrifying, genre-crossing experience that captivates audiences of all ages and musical tastes.

The concert is set 7:30 p.m., Saturday, October 24 at The Block.


MMA Hosts Henry’s Miniatures
November 19-March 7


The Muskegon Museum of Art will host “Henry’s Miniatures: Amalienburg” from November 19 through March 7, 2027.

Henry Matthews began his miniature journey more than 30 years ago, inspired by his daughter’s dollhouse made by her grandfather. Matthews found its miniature objects strangely compelling and slowly began collecting his own, displaying them throughout his family home.

Matthews designed buildings to house the miniatures, resulting in a dollhouse that is roughly four feet wide, seven feet long, and more than eleven feet tall! The entire complex is named “Amalienburg” after the similarly named royal hunting lodge in Munich, Germany, and in honor of his daughter.
