On Sept. 16, Cooley Law School hosted Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel during a Michigan Human Trafficking Commission Mixer panel discussion. Held in partnership with the Michigan Anti-Trafficking Project, the event featured a panel discussion with survivor leaders and advocates. Attendees met with representatives from the Michigan Human Trafficking Commission, learned about human trafficking and anti-trafficking legislation, and networked with regional partners. Melissa Palepu, chair of the Michigan Human Trafficking Commission and assistant attorney general, said Michigan ranks in the top 10 nationally for human trafficking.
