Warner Norcross partners recognized in international environmental law

Three partners with Warner Norcross & Judd LLP have been honored for their expertise in environmental law. John V. Byl, Michael L. Robinson and Eugene E. Smary have again been selected for inclusion in The International Who's Who of Environment Lawyers 2015. Warner Norcross is one of only three Michigan firms on the list and the only firm in Michigan to have multiple attorneys listed.

The annual publication identifies the preeminent attorneys in environmental law by conducting extensive interviews with private practice lawyers and general counsel with expertise in the field. All three have been recognized for multiple years.

The three are all past chairs of the Environmental Law Section of State Bar of Michigan (SBM), and have had extensive involvement with the American Bar Association (ABA) and Grand Rapids Bar Asso-ciation (GRBA). All three are recognized in Best Lawyers in America and Michigan Super Lawyers.

He is past chair of the West Michigan Air and Waste Management Association (AWMA).

He is a past chair of the firm’s Environmental Practice Group.  Robinson has been recognized in Oxford's Who's Who and Who's Who in the World.  Robinson was named the Best Lawyers' 2013 Grand Rapids Environmental Litigation Lawyer of the Year for his work in environmental litigation and in 2014 was listed in Leading Lawyers Michigan. Robinson served on the board of the West Michigan AWMA and was co-founder of the U of? M Environmental Law Society.

Smary has more than 30 years of experience in environmental law and has been recognized both nationally and internationally. Best Lawyers in America named Smary the 2012 Grand Rapids Environmental Lawyer of the Year.  He has also been in Euromoney's Leading Environmental Lawyers in the World and The International Who's Who of Business Lawyers.

Smary is vice chair of the International Bar Association Section of Energy, Environment, Resources and Infrastructure Law and past chair of its Environment, Health and Safety Law Committee.
