Three Foster Swift Grand Rapids attorneys selected as Michigan Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Three attorneys from the Grand Rapids office of Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC have been selected to the 2018 Michigan Super Lawyers and Rising Stars lists.

Only five percent of the lawyers in Michigan are selected by Super Lawyers while the Rising Stars list recognizes no more than 2.5 percent of attorneys in each state.

Super Lawyers is a research-driven rating system of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement.
Annual selections are made using a multiphase process that includes peer nominations, independent research by Super Lawyers and evaluations from a highly credentialed panel of attorneys.

To be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years of age or younger, or been in practice for 10 years or less.

Frederick D. Dilley was named in the practice area of General Litigation.

2018 Rising Stars and their area(s) of practice for which they are listed are: Laura J. Genovich - Bankruptcy: Business; Todd W. Hoppe - Business/Corporate

Since 1902, Foster Swift Collins & Smith, PC has provided comprehensive legal services to businesses, municipalities and individuals. The firm has six locations: Lansing, Detroit, Southfield, Grand Rapids Holland and St. Joseph.

Warner Recognized by State Bar for Pro Bono Contributions

The law firm Warner Norcross + Judd LLP has again been recognized with a 2018 Pro Bono Circle of Excellence Award from the State Bar of Michigan.

The firm, which has eight offices across Michigan, was recognized at the leadership level for the pro-bono contributions of partners, associates and of-counsel attorneys. To be recognized at this level, law firms must provide free or reduced-fee representation to low-income individuals or organizations and/or contribute a minimum of $500 per attorney to the Access to Justice Fund, which provides civil legal ser-vices to persons of limited means.

“We are again honored to be recognized for our pro-bono contributions to the communities where we live and work,” said Douglas A. Dozeman, managing partner. “Providing legal services to those in need helps ensure everyone in our state can have access to quality legal representation.”

Warner attorneys provide direct client representation, serve on boards for legal aid programs, engage in community legal education programs and advise nonprofit and low-income public interest groups. In addition, the firm makes an annual financial contribution to the Access to Justice Fund.
