Warner welcomes four new associates to Grand Rapids office  



Warner Norcross + Judd LLP recently welcomed six new attorneys to the firm, four of whom will be in the Grand Rapids office.

The attorneys, all admitted to the State Bar of Michigan, are gaining experience in a variety of legal matters before selecting a practice group. The new associates to practice in Grand Rapids are:

Philip T. Haywood, who received his law degree cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he was the executive outreach editor of the Indiana Journal of Global Legal Studies. He holds a B.A. magna cum laude from Hope College in sociology with a criminal justice emphasis. Haywood served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Lori T. Quillen of the Indiana Circuit Court of Owen County and interned at Indiana University’s Student Legal Services and the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.

Benjamin P. Nimphie, who received his law degree cum laude from Boston University School of Law, where he was an editor of the Review of Banking & Financial Law. He has a B.A. in English from Michigan State University and an MBA with high honors from Boston University’s Questrom School of Business. He served as a legal extern for the East Boston Neighborhood Health Center.

Malaina J. Weldy, who received her law degree summa cum laude from the University of Notre Dame Law School, where she was a managing senior editor of the Notre Dame Law Review. She holds a bachelor of arts degree summa cum laude from Goshen College in business as well as a master of business administration degree magna cum laude from Notre Dame. She served as an extern for the Notre Dame Office of General Counsel.

Alexandra M. Woods, who received her law degree cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where she was executive managing editor of the Journal of International & Comparative Law. She holds a bachelor of science degree in business administration magna cum laude from Aquinas College. Woods completed an externship at Thor Industries in Elkhart, Ind., and served as a judicial extern for the Hon. James E. Snyder of Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County. She also served as a summer fellow for the National Council on U.S.-Arab Relations in Washington D.C.

Warner’s Southfield office also welcomed Katelyn D. Crysler, a graduate of DePaul University and Michigan State University College of Law who externed at the University of Michigan’s Office of General Counsel; and Celia G. Kaechele, who received her B.A. from University of Michigan and her J.D. from MSU College of Law. She was a summer clerk for the Michigan Association of Governmental Employees.
