The Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the State Bar of Michigan will present a free webinar on "How Successful Diverse ADR Practitioners Grow and Develop Their Practices" noon to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 21.
A panel of experienced arbitrators and mediators will discuss how to start out and succeed in the ADR profession, along with:
• Why and how did the panel members enter the ADR profession?
• How can diversity and inclusion become a reality?
• What worked, and did not work, for panel members in becoming successful ADR practitioners?
• What are lessons they have learned and mistakes they have made?
• What is networking and how can you network to successfully attain your goals?
The moderator will be Antoinette Raheem, former chair of the ADR Section, recipient of the ADR Section's Distinguished Service Award, and a member of the Professional Resolution Experts of Michigan LLC. Raheem is an adjunct professor of ADR at Wayne State University Law School, Michigan State University College of Law, and Western Michigan University Cooley Law School.
Panel members include:
• Earlene Baggett-Hayes has received the ADR Section's Distinguished Service Award, Sojourner Truth Civil Rights Award, Woman of Excellence Award, American Business Women's Professionalism Award, Leon Hubbard Community Service Award, and the Business Women's Professionalism Award..
• Lee Hornberger, a former chair of the ADR Section.
• E.R. Scales, an attorney, arbitrator, and human resources, labor relations, and benefits consultant.
