Turrell honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly
Ford J.H. Turrell, a partner with Warner Norcross + Judd LLP and based in the Grand Rapids office, has been honored by Michigan Lawyers Weekly as an “Up and Coming Lawyer” for 2021. Along with 24 others, he will be honored during a virtual celebration in June.
Ford was selected as one of the six members of Warner’s COVID-19 Response Team. Over the past year, he has contributed to 30 Warner publications addressing PPP loans, Small Business Administration topics and additional financial relief opportunities for small businesses, among others.
A summa cum laude graduate of Michigan State University College of Law, Turrell concentrates his practice on transactional counseling for the real estate and corporate sectors. His experience spans a variety of industries, including agriculture, commercial office and retail leases, distributors, manufacturing, oil and gas, real estate development, retail and restaurants.
He serves on the events committee for the Hospice of Michigan Foundation and recently completed his term on the Embody board of directors.
Turrell is a member of the American Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan and Grand Rapids Bar Association. He served as a term law clerk to the Hon. David W. McKeague of the U.S. Court of Appeals of the Sixth Circuit.
Eighth edition of paralegal textbook is released
Mary Meinzinger Urisko, director of Madonna University's paralegal studies program, has published the eighth edition of the textbook titled "The Paralegal Today; an introduction to law and paralegal studies."
Meinzinger Urisko originally coauthored the textbook with Roger Miller 25 years ago; it is still a key text for many paralegal instructors.
"The Paralegal Today" has been updated to reflect the evolution in how legal services are provided.
The book's eighth edition, covers traditional topics, and also features the many online tools now available.
