MIDC offers Basic Skills 2 course

As a follow up to Basic Skills One, Basic Skills 2 is offered noon to 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 15; attendees will  learn about Direct and Cross-Examination as well as strategies to consider when the press calls about a client’s case. 

Madelaine and Erin Lane will provide tips and tools for effective direct and cross examination.  Madelaine Lane is an experienced trial attorney focused on white collar criminal defense.  She advises on complex civil investigations involving high-volume documents and high-risk publicity. She is co-chair of Warner’s White Collar Criminal Defense and Investigations Practice Group, co-partner-in-charge directing Warner’s eDiscovery Center, Warner’s Associate General Counsel, and a member of the Firm’s Management Committee.

Erin Lane is an Assistant United States Attorney in Western District of Michigan.  She specializes in the prosecution of violent crimes, including firearm offenses, narcotics trafficking, and group-related violence.             

In the second hour, Madelaine and Mary Ann Sabo, president of Sabo PR, will discuss strategies when the press contacts you about a client’s case. 

Mary Ann provides effective communication counsel to assist organizations get back to normal as quickly as possible – with as little damage to their reputations and bottom lines as possible.
