Monahan and Khorey join Miller Johnson office 

Joslin E. Monahan and Alison F. Khorey have joined Miller Johnson as attorneys in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.

Monahan is an experienced litigator and business/corporate law attorney and an authority in emerging cannabis law matters, developing expertise in entity formation, applicant requirements and background checks, licensing with Michigan’s Marijuana Regulatory Agency and local licenses, permits and ordinances.

Monahan earned her J.D. from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law, her M.A.in Philosophy from the University of Montana, and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Hope College.

Khorey offers a broad set of healthcare reimbursement services to protect clients and care providers, primarily representing medical providers seeking insurance reimbursement on patient accounts. She pursues payment, interest, and fees from carriers for wrongful denials of hospital claims by third-party payers, including no-fault carriers, health insurance plans and government plans. She is an expert at all aspects of dispute cases from initial investigation through appeal.

Khorey earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law and her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame.

 

State Bar offers online seminar 

The State Bar of Michigan’s Practice Management Resource Center (PMRC) will host a virtual seminar “How to Run a Lean Law Firm,” featuring Larry Port, CEO of Rocket Matter, and Dave Maxfield, consumer law attorney for Consumer Law SC.

This seminar is set 2 to 3 p.m. via Zoom, Wednesday, Oct. 27.
