Honigman recognized among 101 'Best and Brightest' firms
For the second consecutive year, Honigman Miller Schwartz and Cohn has been recognized as one of "Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For (Best and Brightest)" by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA). The firm was selected from more than 1,000 total nominees.
"We are very pleased to be recognized as one of 'Metropolitan Detroit's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For," said Honigman's Chairman and CEO David Foltyn. "We are even more pleased that as part of the award selection process our staff and attorneys expressed their satisfaction with and enthusiasm for our objective to provide a high level of challenge, collegiality, opportunity and recognition."
The Best and Brightest award was created to honor those companies that work with imagination and conviction to create organizational value through their human resource practices. In 2004, Honigman was also named one of the Best and Brightest in Metropolitan Detroit and earlier in 2011 in West Michigan. Additionally in 2008 and 2009, Honigman was named as one of the "50 Best Law Firms for Women" by Working Mother magazine and Flex-Time Lawyers LLC.
"This year's Best and Brightest award recipients stand out from most businesses in that they have exceeded traditional human resource practices to recruit, develop, motivate and retain their employees. They acknowledge the value their employees have on affecting the success of their company," said Jennifer Kluge, MBPA President. "We are very impressed by the commitment that they have demonstrated to their employees."
An independent research firm evaluates each company's entry based on key measures in various categories. They include Communication, Community Initiatives, Compensation and Benefits, Diversity and Multiculturalism, Employee Education and Development, Employee Engagement and Commitment, Recognition and Retention, Recruitment and Selection, Small Business and Work-Life Balance.
These select companies will be honored by the Michigan Business and Professional Association (MBPA) on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at the Dearborn Inn Marriott.
