Sandusky Woman charged after review of YouTube video SANDUSKY, Mich. (AP) -- A Michigan woman is facing misdemeanor charges after authorities say they reviewed a YouTube video that showed her forcing her 2-year-old son to eat. The 21-year-old woman from St. Clair County's Kimball Township, near Port Huron, was arraigned Tuesday in Sanilac County 73rd District Court in Sandusky. She's charged with fourth-degree child abuse and domestic violence. The court said Wednesday that she didn't have a lawyer on record. She's due back in court March 12. Biniecki says authorities found out about the video in January when tipped off by a Detroit-area news agency. Jackson Ex-community college student gets settlement JACKSON, Mich. (AP) -- A former Jackson Community College student who received an involuntary mental assessment is expected to get a $40,000 settlement. Jackson County commissioners approved the settlement after meeting in closed session Tuesday. Forty-seven-year-old Michael Oliver had sued in federal court seeking damages. Oliver, who is black, was unhappy last year with the college's handling of complaints he made about racial harassment in the classroom. During a phone conversation, Oliver made statements to college employees that they construed as threats. Oliver denied he threatened anyone.
