DETROIT (AP) — A workout on wheels has been awarded $50,000 from Comerica Bank in a contest to reward entrepreneurs in Detroit.
Live Cycle Delight won the Comerica Hatch Detroit contest last Friday, an annual opportunity for Detroit startup businesses to get a financial shot in the arm, as well as free marketing and legal advice.
There were four finalists, including makers of Caribbean food and cookies and ice cream. The contest started with 170 entries before votes by the public trimmed the field.
Live Cycle Delight says it will offer indoor cycling, outdoor rides and classes.
Hatch Detroit is a group that supports independent businesses in Detroit. There have been five winners since 2011, including a pie company, Sister Pie, last year.
