The Pontiac School District will host this year’s teacher-student achievement recognition event this evening.
The Academic Achievement Awards is a recognition banquet that champions the academic and behavioral successes of Pontiac School District students.
Teachers Sonia Nieske, Gregory Spencer, Elizabeth Voultos and Shayla Scott will be recognized with the June Fieger Teacher Incentive Award for innovation and professional excellence.
The district-wide award is presented by the Pontiac Alumni Foundation and its chairman, retired Oakland County Circuit Judge Fred Mester.
Special guests will include attorney Geoffrey Fieger and Detroit Pistons announcer John Mason.
The event will be held starting at 6 p.m. at the Woodside Pontiac Dream Center, 830 Auburn, in Pontiac.
