Sturgis Bank & Trust supports community

A recent donation from the Sturgis Bank and Trust to the Friends of Lawrence Memorial District Library is greatly appreciated.

The bank system has a fun, unique fundraiser. About once a month staff can participate in a “wear jeans to work day,” Tonia Forney, Personal Banker Supervisor at the Climax branch said, “Those that want to participate contribute $5.” The money from all 18 branches gets pooled together and the branches take turns choosing which non-profit receives the donation.

The Sturgis Bank has been doing this activity for years. Patricia Olsen a Personal Banker at the Climax Bank said, “We are big believers in the Community”. This is the second time in several years that the Friends group has benefited from the over $300 donation.

The Friends want to thank Sturgis Bank & Trust for their support of the local Friends of Lawrence Memorial District Library work in supporting the various needs of the Library. The Friends are an independent membership group that has 501c3 tax status. They help the Library with special programs and needs that support reading in the Climax-Scotts School District area. “All donations are greatly appreciated,” says Lou Morgan, Friends membership chairperson, who said anyone who wants to make a donation can call 269-998-3113.
