For more than 15 years the Cereal City Sunrise Rotary Club has helped out and supported the Athens Maple Syrup Project and this year the organization begins its 75th Season!
• Thursday, March 7, 2024 at Athens Maple Syrup House, 7:00 a.m. 315 W. South St. Athens, MI
We will have a brief meeting, a great breakfast served by the Athens Youth Council volunteers and see some of the Maple Syrup boiling and bottling. This is always a great meeting. Feel free to bring the kids. Syrup will be available for purchase.
The Maple House is always open for visitors and tours during the production season, Late Feb through most of March, depending on the weather and sap flow.
If you would like to be placed on the Robo-Call list to help with sap collection and volunteer at the house, contact J.R. Brunner at 269-317-7593. Sap collection typically occurs around 4:00 p.m. when the sap bags fill, typically 2-3 times a week.
Over the past 75 years, this project (which was once a Rotary project) has raised well over $350,000 for the Athens Youth Council and the Athens community.
