Attorney will offer explanation of state’s renewable energy law

An attorney from the same law firm the Climax Township is currently using to assist with updating its zoning ordinances to address solar and renewable energy and Village Council uses to assist with ordinance violations, will make a presentation on Michigan’s new renewable energy law at a special council meeting February 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Lawrence Memorial District Library.

Climax Village Council Ordinance Chairman David Miller said Catherine Kaufman, of Bauckham, Thall, Seeber, Kaufman, & Koches PC, will make the presentation.

The State of Michigan’s new Public Act 233 law that relates to renewable energy and replaces local authority for siting renewable facilities with the Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC), goes into effect November 28, 2024.
