Mother’s Day weekend is a perfect time to visit the W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary. Spring flowers and trees are in bloom and migration season is underway.
The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary will continue the tradition of offering free admission to moms on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12. Sanctuary hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Storybook Walk title for May is “Birdsong,” by Julie Flett. Pages from the book will be located along the accessible, ¾-mile Paved Path to read while you walk.
The May theme in the Overlook Building—an indoor space along the Paved Path—is Birds and Nests. Visitors can explore the worlds of nature and art through activities including dress-up and a build-a-nest challenge.
The W.K. Kellogg Bird Sanctuary is located at 12685 East C Ave., one mile north of M-89 and just west of 40th Street.
