Jackson School of the Arts launches Jiu-Jitsu program

Jackson School of the Arts (JSA), has partnered with Legacy JiuJitsu 517 to bring Jiu-Jitsu classes to Downtown Jackson. Classes begin September 4 and will take place Mondays and Wednesdays.

Two classes are available, for ages 4 to adult. All experience levels are welcome. Classes will be taught by Elizabeth Kirchmeier, owner and lead instructor of Legacy JiuJitsu 517.

Elizabeth is a 1st degree BJJ black belt registered and certified through IBJJF. She has been teaching in the Jackson area for over 14 years.

In response to new program, Elizabeth said, "I am excited to introduce the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to Jackson School of the Arts. Legacy Jiu-Jitsu program stands as the premier Jiu-Jitsu program in Jackson County and the surrounding areas.”

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu was chosen as the next addition to JSA programming, a discipline known for teaching practical self-defense skills, encouraging physical fitness and mental discipline, growing confidence, and a source of stress relief.
