G-A ends skid with win over Watervliet

The Galesburg-Augusta varsity volleyball team ended a three-game SAC losing streak with a win over Watervliet September 26 in four games, 16-25, 26-24, 25-13, 25-13.

G-A coach Jonica Klimp feels after the recent skid, her team has learned every game hard work and determination are keys moving forward and were big factors in the win over Watervliet.

“With the conference title now out of reach with our losses to Delton and Martin, we are focusing the rest of the year on post season prep. We have a very tough district, and it will take a lot of
work and refinement to take the title,” observed the G-A coach.

Senior Jaidyn Klimp had 18 kills, 16 digs, two blocks and one assist, setter Suzy Nichols added 27 assists and eight digs, and Lily Gilbert had seven kills and nine digs.

The Ram coach is encouraged how her team is attacking the ball, but feels the team still needs to get better.
