Leaf pick-up has started in Village of Climax

The Village of Climax is happy to provide road-side leaf pick-up service for Village residents. Leaf pickup has started and will end the Monday before Thanksgiving or if a significant snow fall occurs before the Monday before Thanksgiving. The DPW asks village residents to remember the following guidelines.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Pine needles, Mulched leaves or walnuts will not be picked up. The mulched leaf mass becomes a very heavy concentration of material, especially when it has rained. The leaf vacuum impeller is easily damaged due to heavy compacted material, resulting in costly repairs. We do however welcome village residents to take mulched leaves to the Village’s brush pile for free.

• Please remember to place leaves between the sidewalks and the road.  DO NOT place leaves on the road. Leaves placed in the road on curbed streets can plug the drains quickly.

• No sticks, walnuts or pine needles mixed in with leaves please.

• The leaf pick-up schedule below will be followed by the DPW staff unless time allows staff to deviate from the regular schedule to pick up leaves on streets scheduled for pickup on another day.

• Leaf Pick-up will discontinue after the first accumulation of snow.
